The clinic offers educational opportunities including; on site training classes ;herbal and medicinal plant usage, literacy classes for local midwives, culturally appropriate community-based education, teaching tangible skills and providing one-on-one training to strengthen these skills, and provide a safe place to discuss personal, family & community issues . Due to the increasing number of women and children using our clinic, we recognized that we needed a larger and more adequate facility. May of 2004, we began construction of our new and larger Clinica Naturista just 50 meters from the original site.. By June 2005, we completed and began servicing the community from our new location. A larger office space will be added as we receive the funds for expansion. Presently we employ 6 local indigenous Mayan personnel, of which there is a nurse / midwife, a secretary/accountant, naturalpath, medicinal plant technician, a guardian & gardener. We will continue our volunteer opportunities for licensed acupuncturists and foreign midwives, along with other alternative medicine practicioners.
